Notifications: channels, events and delivery log
Available on the Pro, Agency and Provider plansUpdated September 2026
DNSPeek tells you when something needs your attention: DNS has propagated, a QA report is ready, a client approved the launch, a link is about to expire. Each member gets personal emails, and admins can send events to the tools the team already watches.

Team channels
Open Team → Notifications (owners and admins) and add a channel: Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, Discord, a webhook to your own system, or an email address such as a shared inbox. Setup for each one is in Channel setup and WhatsApp.
| Plan | Team channels |
|---|---|
| Free | Personal email only |
| Pro | 3 |
| Agency | 20 |
| Provider | Unlimited |
After a downgrade below the number of channels you have, the oldest channels keep receiving events and the rest pause.
Choose which events go where
The Events matrix has a row per event and a column per channel. Tick a box to send that event to that channel; changes save as you go. A new channel starts with every event ticked.
| Group | Events |
|---|---|
| DNS | DNS propagated, DNS tracking expired, DNS webhook removed, Safe to switch DNS |
| QA & compare | QA report ready, QA report failed, Post-switch check ready, Compare ready, Compare failed |
| Client | New comment, Launch approved |
| Links | Link created, Link expiring, Link expired, Link blocked, Guest link claimed, Migration complete, Retire the old host |
| Billing & usage | Usage almost at limit, Usage limit reached, Payment received, Refund issued, Payment still processing, Payment failed, Plan changed |
| Team | Member joined, Member removed, Role changed, Join request, Domain verification lost, Domain taken over, API key expiring, API key expired |
- New comments are sent at most once every 10 minutes per link, so a busy review does not flood a channel.
- “Link expiring” is sent 3 days and 1 day before a link expires.
- “Usage almost at limit” (at 80 %, or with one left on a small quota such as 3 live compare sessions) and “Usage limit reached” are sent once per quota and month.
Test a channel and keep it healthy
Click Send test on a channel card to send a real test message right away and see whether it arrived.
A delivery that fails is retried, with 5 attempts in total over about 8 minutes. Errors that cannot fix themselves, such as a deleted Slack webhook or a bot removed from a Telegram group, stop at once. After 10 deliveries in a row fail, the channel is marked failing: it stops receiving events and the owner and admins get an email. Fix the cause, then choose Reset and re-enable in the channel’s menu (a successful test does the same).
The channel menu also lets you rename, disable and delete a channel, and rotate a webhook’s signing secret.
Delivery log
The Delivery log at the bottom of the page lists every message sent, newest first: event, channel, status (queued, sent or failed), attempts, time and the last error. Filter by channel or status, and click retry on a failed delivery to send it again.
Your personal emails
Every member, on every plan, can choose which events DNSPeek emails them about. Open Settings → Notifications and use Email notifications; the choice is per workspace, for the workspace selected at the time.
- Link, report and comment emails go to the person who ran the report or compare, otherwise to whoever created the link.
- Billing, usage and team emails go to the owner and admins only.
The bell in the header
The bell at the top right of the dashboard collects what happened while you were away: reports that finished, payments, client comments, new links, team changes and security alerts about your account. A number on the bell shows how many you have not read yet.
- Open the bell to see the latest items, grouped by Today, Yesterday and Earlier. Click one to open it; it is then marked as read.
- Hover an item to mark it read or archive it, or use Mark all as read.
- View all opens the full history, where you can filter by type and workspace.
- Something urgent, such as a failed payment or a blocked link, also shows a short pop-up while DNSPeek is open.
The bell shows the same events as your personal emails would, even the ones you turned off for email. To hide an event from the bell, open Settings → Notifications → In-app notifications and turn it off; security alerts and workspace invitations always show.
